 Landing Museum Utah Beach





On an unchanging site, the Utah Beach Museum retraces the landing of the American troops on June 6th 1944. 836 000 men participated in this military and technical exploit. The museum holds a fine collection of equipment, arms, photos and mementas. Display of German amphibious vehicles and defensive equipment. Archive films in 3 languages. Panoramic view of the whole site to Pointe du Hoc . On the site, monuments commemorating the action of the men landed in the sector.

Normandy Plain has been, since the late 17th century, a centre of breeding for the Normandy cow. The Cotentin Farm Museum evokes this history through displays on farming life in days gone by, a rich collection of agricultural machines and tools, as well as a herd of local cows and an orchard repository.

 Freedom Regained Memorial :



The Freedom Regained Memorial houses a chronological display from the declaration of war to capitulation explaining aspect of French civilians'daily life during the Occupation. Subjects include food, clothes, transport, conscription, resistance, the role of women and children...

 Musée de la Batterie de Crisbecq :



Visit the largest coastal artillery battery on Utah-Beach, with its 21 pillboxes linked by over a kilometre of trenches covering a total area of 4 hectares. You will get a genuine feel for battery, via the diorama show which takes you into the rest rooms, the food and equipment stores, the ammunition chambers and the sick rooms - all restored to their original state.

AZEVILLE

 Batterie allemande :



The Azeville Battery was one of the 1st parts of the Atlantic Wall to be built in France. Comprising four powerful pillboxes equipped with 105 mm guns, it covered the Manche coast from inland. On the morning of June 6th 1944, it was put into action against the American landings on Utah Beach. It was taken by the Americans after three days of intense fighting.

Museum of the Occupation - 36, place de l'église
The atmosphere that can be feld in that house-museum will take you straignht back to the troubled time of the occupation. Some unic mural paintings decorate the old rest-room of the Germans. Some outstanding pieces are presentad through the reconstitution of the time : difficulties of transport and supply, resistance, collaboration and deportation.
Opening times : Every days from the 15 april to the 15 september, 10 am to 12.30 am and 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm. From november to march for groups with reservation only.
Duration of visit : 1 hour. Walk around at leisure or guided tour.

 Musée de la Liberté :




This museum shows in a typical place, a collection of equipments, headdresses, weapons, vehicules and personal items used by U.S. soldiers (paratroopers of 101st division, infantrymen of 4th division and sailors of the U.S. Navy, ...).
This collection is put in a proud memory of these men engaged in the most important military operation of all centuries, against the german forces presented also in the museum in a famous historical place.

Opening time : from 1st april to 11th november 10.00 am to 12.00 am and 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
After 11th november visits on request.

 Dead Man's Corner Museum :



Located in the deadman's corner, this house (which became a museum) served successively as QG and aid station for the German paras.
Discover the events and admire the beautiful collection through numerous windowshops.
You will find a specialized shop for military material about the 101st Airborne.

Opening times : every days 10 am - 18 pm.
Closed on sunday from 1st september to 30 th may.
Closed for christmas.
