SAINTE MERE EGLISE :

Saturday 29th (2.00 - 6.00 p.m.) 
et Dimanche 30 mai (10 a.m.– 12.00 & 2 p.m.— 6  p.m.)  at the Townhall : 2nd Book Show « History and Memories » with 50 authors (regional and national)

Saturday, 29th May
Saint Martin de Varreville (Leclerc Monument ) to Sainte Mère Église : International March for Peace

Friday, 4th June (8.30 a.m.-4.30 p.m.)
Market Hall : Military Fair (entrance fee: 4 € ; Exhibitor: 12 €/m)

29th May — 7th June
Exhibition at the Library on « Anniversaries of the Liberation from 1948 until today » (org Club des Ainés de Ste Mère Eglise)

1st — 8th June
Reconstruction of a US military camp by MVCG Bretagne on the sports field.
Participation in hikes to Amfreville on3rd and 4th of June.

Saturday, 5th and Sunday, 6th
Ferme Musée du Cotentin (Farm Museum) « Living and working in farms under the Occupation » : guided visit about everyday life in the countryside during the 2nd World War. Entrance fees : adult/4,20 €, children/1,75 €, group (> 20 pers.), student, handicapped/ 2,70 €

Saturday, 5th and Sunday, 6th
Townhall : Exclusive: Preview of the film « Howard the Hero » in Original Version/French Version. No Charge. French Version at 11.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Original Version at 10 a.m. and 3h30 p.m.

From Friday 4th june to Monday 7th june :
Airborne Festival ( Rue du Général de Gaulle, behind the airborne museum) 2 €.

Presentation and and sale of books signed by Michael Simon : "Air fights in le Cotentin". Sandra Poulain-Stein with her book along with Mme Degrenne for "Guy Degrenne, that’s how he succeeded !" (during the Book Show in Ste Mère Eglise)

Thursday, 3rd June

7 p.m.- 11 p.m. : Hike « les Sentiers de la Mémoire » (paths of Memory) with commentaries about « The Night of the paratroopers » : 8 km. FREE

6.30 a.m. : GMC gives a ride to walkers to Utah Beach

7.30 a.m. : Start of the « IVY March » (9km : Utah Beach—Ste Marie du Mont)

10 a.m.- 10.30 a.m. : « D-Day » Mountain Bike Hike: 25 km. 12km (children under  10 years old). Start from the Pole de Vie.

11 a.m. : Arrival of the « IVY March »

12.00 : Arrival of the Mountain Bike Hike

12.30 : Picnic offered by shops to the IVY hikers

2 p.m. : Presentation of “dioramas”, animated scenes

2.30 p.m. : Parade of 40 « Major Girls de Ste Marie du Mont » dressed in US military uniform

5.30 p.m. : Presentation of film « la Manche Libérée »

9 p.m. : Parade of 40 « Major Girls de Ste Marie du Mont » dressed in US military uniform to open ball

9.30 pm : Ball with 40’s music

11.30 pm : Fireworks

4 - 5 p.m.: Church square, 40’s songs by Jean-Marie Thomas
6—6.30 p.m. : Church square, Military music band « American Band 
6—6.45 p.m. : Church square, Irish music band « la Bisquine »
7 - 7.30 p.m. : Church square, Apéro Concert by « Cocktail Swing » band
8 - 9 p.m. : Church square, Military music band « American Band »
7 p.m. : Markethall, Banquet de la Liberté organised by AVA (Amis des Vétérans Américains). 22,50 € (drinks included—free for children under 6).

11 a.m. : Sainte-Marie du Mont, Utah Beach, Religious celebration for Remembrance and for Peace.

2 p.m. : St Martin de Varreville, Remembrance Ceremony

3.30 p.m. : Utah Beach, Monument Leclerc, Tribute to soldiers lost at sea (fleet of boats with flowers thrown into sea)

5 p.m. : Sainte-Mère-Église, International Ceremony for Peace

8 p.m. : Sainte Marie du Mont, Ceremony at the Monument (to be confirmed)
