Airborne Museum :
US Airborne exhibition about the events of the 5-6th of June 1944 which is dedicated to the 82nd and 101st US Airborne. - WACO glider, DOUGLAS C47 plane, Half track jeep - Original film “Fight for Freedom” - Weapons, documents, photos, souvenirs, etc.
Museum with a situation model which shows W5 Utah Beach, a nice exhibition of military equipment, weapons, slideshows, tools, archive photos, original Staff maps, archive film (12mn)… A large bay window shows a panoramic view on Utah Beach until la Pointe du Hoc
This farm has become a museum in 1979. It shelters old operating buildings and dependencies: a rich collection of agricultural machines and tools. It tells the work and rural life’s story of the 19th century. Imagine what the life style and the activities were 100 years ago: visit stables, the apple-press room, milkery, bakery or the “get together” room! Don’t forget to visit the local race animals and the apple and pear conservatory orchard.
You will find a chronological presentation of events from 1940 to the liberation in June 1944. Many different aspects about French civilian everyday’s life under the Occupation are presented: how to find food, clothes, go somewhere, German requisitions, compulsory work, resistance, role of women and children… 12mn away from Ste Mère Eglise and Utah Beach.
This house-museum has sheltered the German garrison during 4 years. As soon as you enter, you will feel the atmosphere of this period of time. You can find wall paintings in the old German sleeping room. Exceptional rooms are presented through reconstructions: transport difficulties, collaboration, and deportation. 1 hour visit (guided or not).

Liberation museum:
In this large historic house, situated in front of the church (famous picture from Band of Brothers), you will see: US and German weapons, US vehicles, US and German dummies, private items, captured trophies, and items found after search on battle fields where 101st Airborne paratroopers and units from the beaches fought against German forces. See as well the Shop which sells militaria items, souvenirs and book. English and Russian spoken.
Open Air Museum built in 1942: 19 bunkers entirely reconstructed with original German equipment, on 4 ha. You will dive into battery’s atmosphere when you visit the sleeping rooms, nursery, equipped kitchen…
This battery was one of the first Atlantic Wall’s constructions in France. With 4 powerful casemates armed with 105 mm canons, it covered the seaside from the countryside. Early on the 6th of June 1944, it enters into action against the US landing on Utah Beach. It was taken by Americans after 3 days of violent fights and many rebounds.
Situated in a renowned crossroad, this house was used as an HQ and infirmary by German Airborne. Discover the events and admire the great collection through many windows. You will also find a special space for military equipment and many 101st Airborne souvenirs.
